Meet The Core Team

The 'Core Team' consists of the senior pastors and other key roles that have overall responsibility for the church.

Phil has been a member of Coastlands Family Church since moving with Becky and the kids from Port Talbot back in 2013.

In his time at Coastlands he has had roles such as Youth Leader/overseer small group leader and prayer coordinator.

Phil has a passion for church revival and longs to see god move across Wales in his life time. His heart if for the church in Wales to reach its fullest potential in Christ through seeking him with all there heart. He also has an evangelistic heart longing to see many come to faith in Jesus.

Phil is married to Becky who is also on the core leadership team. Phil is a family man and has 3 children who also attend Coastlands.

My name is Becky and I was brought up in a Christian family which impacted my faith immensely. I married Phil in 2006 and we now have 3 beautiful children. We moved to Barry in 2013 which is when we joined Coastlands.

 

I lead the children’s ministry here which is my absolute passion. I have a real heart for church kids and also to share Jesus with children who don’t yet know him. 

Becky works as Foodbank Manager.

Mike Holmes  
Pastor Emeritus 

After graduating from Surrey University with a degree in Human Biology in 1979, Mike worked as a lecturer for two multinational  computer companies  for 7 years.

 

He grew up as a Christadelphian, started preaching at 16, but was remarkably saved in 1982 after being baptised in the Holy Spirit. Mike felt God's call into full-time ministry some five years later and obtained a certificate in Biblical Studies at London Bible College.

 

Mike has been a full-time pastor since 1988, serving a charismatic evangelical church in Reading and then Bethlehem Church Life Centre in Cefn Cribwr until November 2011. Mike also has a Masters degree in Missional Leadership from the University of Wales and has a passion for transforming church to transform community.

 

Rob Jones
Regional Church Support

Rob was powerfully saved as a teenager in the Rhondda valley and graduated London Bible College in 1979. He has been involved in many church plants across  South Wales over the years and retired from business in 2006 to be able to serve churches more widely across Wales.

Rob serves on the National Gweini Board, the national Waleswide Team and is also part of the New Wine National Team with responsibility for the South Wales valleys region.

Rob currently serves a number of churches in many parts of Wales in an oversight capacity and his life’s passion is worship.
